Conjoined twins await operations

Conjoined twins born in Htone Bo village, Taungoo, on March 16 have been sent to Yangon Children's Hospital for further operations.

The village midwife successfully delivered the twins. They weigh eight pounds and four ounces altogether.
"I feel sad and happy at the same time. I am happy that I have twins, but I am sad that they will undergo an operation,” said Min Min Hlaing, the twins' father.
“The twins and their mother are in good health,” said Khin Thida Cho, a public relations officer from Taungoo Hospital.
Local NGOs from Taungoo and officials from the Maternal and Child Welfare Association and Women's Affairs Association from Bago Region donated cash for the twins' operation.
The twins' parents have a four-year-old daughter, and the mother had a miscarriage during her second pregnancy.
