JICA extends $300m loan to Myanmar

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has granted Myanmar a US$300 million loan to help develop the national electricity grid and communications.

 
According to its statement, approximately $200 million will be spent on developing the national electricity grid and $100 million on improving communications. 
The loan originally denominated in Japanese yen carries the interest rate of 0.01 per cent and 40 years in repayment period.
