The commander-in-chief said there had been dishonesty concerning the bombing on May 14 and 15 in China. He said the hill was too far from the army’s location and claimed that it might have been done by the MNDAA forces to put strain on relations between China and Myanmar.
Ambassador Yang Houlan said Beijing did not want to put a strain on the bilateral relationship, adding that the MNDAA was causing trouble to both countries. The Chinese government wanted a stable border, he said. “The distributing of news on the internet puts pressure on our government. We need to negotiate to reduce the pressure and Myanmar needs to take care not to let the shelling happen again.”
