Schools across Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region were closed again. They were closed in August due to flooding and were just re-opened recently.
The water level Aunglan Township, Magway Region rose. Around 6,300 houses, 6,400 families and 30,000 people from 24 villages in the township suffered during the first flood.
“Relief camps have opened and donations are required,” said Aung Myint Kyi, Pyay district meteorology officer.
The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology predicts a further increase in the water level this weekend in several areas.
Areas of Pyay Township were flooded to the second floor. The Ayeyawady and Ngawon have exceeded danger levels in Hinthada District, Ayeyawady, according to the authorities.
The Ayeyawady exceeded danger levels in Zalun, Hinthada, Ingapu, Myanaung and Kyangin townships in Hinthada District, and the Ngawon broke danger levels in Lemyetna in Hinthada District.
