Telenor’s third special numbers auction fetches 54.8m kyats

TAUNGYI - Telenor Myanmar's third special number auction here fetched a total of 54.8 million kyats lakhs from 13 special numbers.
The highest single bid of the day was received for 09777777787, sold for 7.1 million.
Previous special numbers auction in Yangon and Mandalay have collected total bids of 48.35 million and 35.79 million, respectively. From these two events, profits above the reserve price of 3 million kyats were donated to Myanmar Mobile Education’s (myME) programmes and Myat Lay Yone Monastic School in Kwan Chan Gone Township and in Thin Kha Yine Orphanage in Bago Township.
From the third auction, a total of 15.8 million would fund a new monastic school building and acquire water pump in Dhama Widu Monastic School in Taunggyi, Shan State.
The auction process was assured by law firm MN Associates. Telenor also announced that it would hold future auctions in other states and divisions. The company last week extended its network to cover all states and regions.
