Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Quynh, 37, a winner of the Civil Rights Defender award, was arrested on Monday, the online newspaper VNexpress said.
Authorities accused her of using her blog and social media accounts to post writings and video clips that “distort the truth and history, against the guidelines and policy of the party and the state”.
One of her posts included an appeal to “stop police killing civilians”, listing 35 people who died after being detained by Vietnamese police.
Quynh’s Facebook page “Me Nam” which means “Mother Mushroom” was launched in 2012 and is one of Vietnam’s most read dissident blogs.
