The inalienable right to be stupid

As an American, I have always tried to separate someone’s politics from the person himself.
But I find that not only do I detest Donald Trump, I dislike the people who support him. For, if you admire a man who is cruel, dangerous, incompetent and just plain stupid, then you must be those things yourself. Your politics tells me how you feel about human rights, animal rights, world peace, the environment and social justice. Your politics tells me who you are as a human being.
Still, I respect your right to love Donald Trump. But I have the same right to think you have a severe character flaw for doing so.
