Medical consensus on diet versus a cherry-picking crank

Re: “Mainstream medical advice tainted by Big Pharma money”, Have Your Say, yesterday.

Once again Thomas Turk proves absolutely nothing except that he’s a self-serving hypocrite who is completely divorced from reality.
No one (least of all me!) agrees with everything the medical establishment says. Neither do we take at face value every medical study we read.
What I object to is that Turk smears the character of virtually every medical doctor, dietitian and nutritionist in the world except for the extremely small percentage of health professionals who agree with him.
What’s even more hypocritical is that he backs up his arguments by quoting from the very medical publications (in this case the British Medical Journal) which he claims have no credibility. In other words, they have zero credibility during the 99 per cent of the time they disagree with him, but during the 1 per cent suddenly become the word of God. What a clown!
