WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18, 2012

The Department of Special Investigation on Wednesday dismissed a report that its deputy director general's application for a US visa was rejected, saying that the application is still being processed.

The DSI’s director general Tharit Pengdit was responding to a report, which claimed that the US embassy turned down the visa application of Pol Col Prawet Mulpramuk, who has been assigned to lead a team to the US to gather information about a conspiracy to bring down the monarchy, known in Thai as lom chao.
Manager online reported that Prawet is scheduled to leave for the US on January 22 together with two officials from the public prosecutor for special cases and for foreign affairs.
