Five transvestite Thammasat graduates allowed to be dressed girl students for commencement
Five transvestite newly graduates of Thammasat University have been allowed to be dressed as girl students for the royally-sponsored commencement at the end of this month, Thai Rath reported.
The paper said the university has consulted with the Royal Household Bureau about the wish of five students, who were born men, to get dressed as girl students for the ceremony and the bureau replied that it would be up to the university’s own decision.
Thai Rath said the university agreed to allow the five to get dressed in girl commencement uniform because they have studied as girl students and the university regarded that it would be too cruel to force them get dressed in mail uniform for the ceremony.
The commencement will be held on August 30 and a full-dress rehearsal will be held on August 25.
