So far, 21 victims have been uncovered who suffered up to Bt429,180 in damages.
The two Taiwanese men allegedly posed as Siam Commercial Bank officials and sent emails or social media messages to victims asking them to fill their banking information in a fake website.
Upon receiving the data, the suspects hacked victims’ accounts and transferred money to the accounts of their Thai accomplices, police said.
Police added that other suspects related to this case, both Taiwanese and Thai, have been arrested.
