Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin said on Sunday that 8.18 million people had registered under the scheme. He said approximately 1 million people -- those whose names do not match with government agencies' database or do not have a smartphone -- have not registered yet.
"Social Security officials will check peoples' eligibility and facilitate registration," he said.
He added that after registration via website closes, registrants can use their ID card to request review of their eligibility at Social Security Offices nationwide from March 15 to 28.
Meanwhile, Social Security Office secretary-general Thossaphol Kritwongwiman added that people who had registered via the website, but do not have a smartphone, must contact Social Security Offices nationwide from March 8 to 11.
