Riders, vans and trucks to get government fuel aid

Govt will roll out fuel relief for riders, vans, buses and yellow-plate trucks from April 1 to 30, with support linked to actual usage and tracked through GPS

Here are the government’s relief measures for transport operators after soaring fuel prices, including support for riders, vans, buses and trucks.

Relief measures for transport groups after fuel price surge

Riders

  • 114,653 vehicles
  • Support payment: 300 baht per vehicle per month

Category 4 public transport vehicles (vans)

  • 19,414 vehicles
  • Support payment: 300 baht per vehicle per day

Category 2 and 3 buses

  • 11,395 vehicles
  • Support payment: 4 baht per litre

Truck group (yellow-plate 70 freight trucks)

  • 287,175 vehicles
  • Support payment: 6 baht per litre, based on actual usage recorded through the GPS system

When will the relief begin and what are the conditions?

  • Implementation period: April 1–30, 2026
  • The government will pay based on actual usage, with trips and service activity tracked through the Department of Land Transport’s existing monitoring system
  • It will not be a flat-rate payment
  • For operators who do not yet have GPS, a QR code system will be attached to vehicles to tag service data and record actual operating costs instead
