
Liverpool are the most popular Premier League club among Thai football followers, while Buriram United lead preferences among Thai League 1 fans, according to a NIDA Poll survey.
NIDA Poll, the opinion survey centre of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), released the results of its survey on the 2026-27 English Premier League and Thai League 1 seasons.
The survey was conducted from August 10-13, 2026, among 2,500 people aged 15 and over from across Thailand, covering different regions, educational backgrounds, occupations and income levels.
The poll used probability sampling from NIDA Poll’s Master Sample database and multi-stage sampling, with data collected through telephone interviews. The survey specified a sampling error of no more than 0.05 at a 97% confidence level.
Among all respondents, 55.24% reported following the Premier League occasionally, while 11.60% followed it regularly. Another 33.16% did not follow the competition at all.
Among the 1,671 respondents who followed the Premier League either regularly or occasionally, Liverpool emerged as the clear favourite for the 2026-27 season, receiving 38.54% support.
Manchester United came second with 28.31%, followed by Chelsea at 8.26%, Arsenal at 8.01% and Manchester City at 4.79%.
Another 1.32% chose other clubs, including Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Leeds United, Everton, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland. A further 10.77% had no particular favourite.
Interest in Thai League 1 was lower. The survey found that 47.32% of respondents did not follow the competition at all, while 47.20% followed it occasionally and 5.48% followed it regularly.
Among the 1,317 respondents who followed Thai League 1 regularly or occasionally, Buriram United were comfortably the most popular club for the 2026-27 season, also known as the BYD Sealion 6 League 1, with 41.76% support.
Port FC came second with 16.55%, followed by Chonburi FC at 4.86%, BG Pathum United at 4.25%, Singha Chiang Rai United at 3.87% and True Bangkok United at 2.43%.
Sisaket United received 1.90%, Pattani FC 1.75% and Sukhothai FC 1.14%. Another 4.18% preferred other clubs, including Ratchaburi FC, Lamphun Warriors, PT Prachuap FC, Ayutthaya United, Rayong FC, Uthai Thani FC and Rasisalai United.
A further 17.31% of Thai League 1 followers reported having no particular favourite club.
