Thailand’s women’s volleyball team secured their place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Asian Games after defeating Kyrgyzstan 3-0 in their second Pool C match on Thursday (September 17, 2026).
The victory gave Thailand two consecutive wins in the tournament and maintained their perfect record without losing a set.
The match was played at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium in Aichi, Japan, as part of the women’s volleyball competition at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
Thailand entered the match after opening their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Mongolia, while Kyrgyzstan were looking for their first win after losing their opening match to Chinese Taipei.
The Thai team, which has won the 2026 Asian championship and secured qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games, were led by head coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai.
His starting line-up featured Natthanicha Jaisaen, Kanyarat Kunmueang, Kaewkalaya Kamulthala, Ajcharaporn Kongyot, Sasipaporn Janthawisut, Chatchu-On Moksri and libero Piyanut Pannoy.
Thailand maintain unbeaten Asian Games run
Thailand controlled the opening set with effective attacks from quick plays and wing hitters, building a 15-11 lead.
Kyrgyzstan attempted to close the gap, but Thailand’s strong blocking and Thatdao Nuekjang’s quick attacks helped them extend their advantage.
Thatdao’s quick strike made it 24-13 before Kanyarat finished the set with an ace serve as Thailand won 25-13.
The second set followed a similar pattern, with Thailand quickly moving ahead after Pimpichaya Kokram scored at the net to make it 5-1.
Chatchu-On contributed through attacking plays and an ace serve as Thailand increased their lead to 12-3.
Thailand continued applying pressure while Kyrgyzstan struggled to maintain their attacking rhythm and committed errors.
Sasipaporn closed the set with a strong attack as Thailand won 25-7 to take a 2-0 lead.
Thai attack overwhelms Kyrgyzstan
Thailand made adjustments in the third set, introducing Ajcharaporn Kongyot and Natthanicha Jaisaen while continuing their attacking momentum.
Sasipaporn, Ajcharaporn and Kanyarat combined to help Thailand establish an 8-1 advantage.
Kyrgyzstan continued competing and managed to reduce the deficit to 10-3, but Thailand quickly regained control.
After Kaewkalaya entered the match, Thailand extended their lead to 17-4 before Kanyarat’s quick attack made it 21-6.
Sasipaporn then produced two consecutive ace serves to end the contest as Thailand won the final set 25-7.
Thailand completed the match with a 3-0 victory by set scores of 25-13, 25-7 and 25-7, collecting six points and remaining unbeaten in Pool C.
The result confirmed Thailand’s qualification for the quarter-finals, or last-eight stage, of the Asian Games.
Chinese Taipei match to decide Pool C winner
Thailand will play their final Pool C match against Chinese Taipei, ranked 37th in the world, on Friday (September 18) at 5pm Thailand time.
The match will determine the pool winner after both teams secured qualification for the quarter-finals.
