Thailand hails its success in controlling the spread of AIDS, but the fatal disease keeps spreading, though at a slower speed. More education on safe sex is needed, particularly among children.

Under its community programme "Triple E", Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production is providing a grant of Bt3 million to PATH, an international, nonprofit organisation that creates sustainable, culturally relevant solutions for communities. Together, they seek to promote sex-related communications between parents and their children.
Pairoj Kaweeyanun, Chevron president, said Triple E sets course for Chevron in working with development organisations around the world in ensuring sustainable community development. In Thailand, it was implemented in 2010.
Under this cooperation, infected volunteers will be educated on sex issues. They will pass on the knowledge to parents, so that the parents could properly advise their teenage children. The project will focus on the Northeastern provinces in Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, and Si Sa Ket. It was hopeful that while communities would get stronger, the project would reinvigorate the AIDS-infected as they can still do good for society.
