Filipinos got ‘Duterte Harry’, Thais should feel lucky
Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte caused quite a stir when he declared he would be happy to exterminate three million drug peddlers and users in the country, comparing it to Hitler’s Holocaust against the Jews.
We Thais who are complaining about Premier Prayut’s attitude-adjustment programme, his detention of anti-coup students and his tirades against the media should feel lucky to be ruled by a “soft” dictator rather than a “tough” democratically elected leader.
Duterte’s demeanour makes Prayut look like Mother Teresa.
