Bosch Thailand has announced the winners of INNOVISION YOUNG GEN with BOSCH 2026, the second edition of its nationwide competition encouraging Thai students to develop technology-based solutions to sustainability challenges.
The initiative combines systems thinking, smart sensor technology and sustainable development, with participants developing concepts aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This year's competition attracted nearly 400 applicants from high schools and universities across Thailand. After an initial assessment of their proposals, 40 finalists were selected to attend an intensive workshop covering sustainability frameworks, systems thinking and the application of sensor technology.
Participants received certificates jointly endorsed by Bosch Thailand and its knowledge partner, the UN Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT).
The workshop featured interactive SDG Games facilitated by Ennova Partners in collaboration with GCNT. The activities explored the relationship between sustainability and business viability.
A technical specialist from Bosch Sensortec also provided an overview of smart sensor technology and its potential applications. The finalists then presented their concepts through three-minute video pitches, demonstrating how sensor-based solutions could address specific sustainability challenges.
In the high school category, Burich Benjarattananon from Bangkok Christian College won the grand prize, earning an innovation study trip to Bosch's regional headquarters in Singapore.
Ryan Murphy from Bangkok Prep International School and Natthakan Wongvibulsin from King's College International School Bangkok received honourable mentions, each earning a THB5,000 cash prize.
In the university category, Saranyanee Rungwilaicharoen from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi claimed the top prize, also earning a place on the Singapore study trip.
Naratorn Bencharithiwong from Chulalongkorn University and Titaree Kamkhiew from Kasetsart University received honourable mentions, with each awarded THB5,000.
Beyond the competition, the two grand winners took part in a panel discussion alongside a Bosch Thailand executive at GCNT Expo 2026: From SHOCK To SHIFT.
The session, titled "Empowering the Next Generation: Turning Technology and Sustainability into Real-World Impact", gave the winners an opportunity to share their perspectives on using technology to address sustainability challenges.
All six award recipients also visited the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in Bangkok.
During the visit, they took part in a "delegates for a day" experience, gaining insight into international cooperation and sustainability frameworks.
Joseph Hong, Managing Director of Bosch Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, described the competition as part of the company's commitment to developing the next generation of innovators.
"The INNOVISION YOUNG GEN with BOSCH 2026 competition truly embodies our 'Invented for life' ethos, demonstrating Bosch's unwavering commitment to empowering the next generation," he said.
Hong praised the nearly 400 applicants for their creativity and commitment, highlighting how their innovative thinking could inspire future generations to use technology to address sustainability challenges and make a positive difference in society.
Dr Thanyaporn Krichtitayawuth, Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network Thailand, highlighted the importance of cooperation between businesses and sustainability organisations in developing young talent.
"This Bosch–GCNT partnership is what Sustainable Intelligence was created for: bringing knowledge, skills and the right mindset together with business to open opportunities for young people. It is the model we want to multiply," she said.
She added that greater involvement by GCNT members in initiatives linking their expertise with the SDGs could make a significant contribution to Thailand's human capital development.
Burich, the high school grand winner, described the competition as an opportunity to deepen his understanding of how technology could contribute to sustainable development.
"The entire experience, from diving into advanced sensor technology with Bosch Sensortec to exploring the UN Sustainable Development Goals, has profoundly shaped my understanding of how innovation can drive real change," he said.
He also highlighted the visits to the UNCC and Bosch's regional headquarters in Singapore as valuable experiences that encouraged him to continue developing practical solutions.
Saranyanee, the university grand winner, described the competition as an important step in her professional development, particularly through its combination of technical learning and industry mentorship.
"It taught me how to strategically align social impact with technological feasibility to tackle sustainability challenges," she said.
She added that the opportunities to visit the UNCC and Bosch's Singapore headquarters had strengthened her commitment to developing innovations that support a sustainable future.
Bosch Thailand thanked the participants, judges and knowledge partners involved in the competition.
The company hopes the experience will encourage young innovators to turn their ideas into practical solutions that support sustainable development and wider social progress.
