Ratchanok stuns Tai for Malaysia Masters crown
Ratchanok Intanon saved two match points to upset world No 1 Tai Tsu Ying of Taiwan 21-16 14-21 24-22 to win the Perodua Malaysia Masters in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
The world No 5 was twice away from defeat at 19-20 and 20-21 but turned things around with smart and consistent play to win the final match in one hour and five minutes, which is her opening tournament of the season. The Malaysia Masters is a BWF World Tour Super 500, formerly known as a SuperSeries level.
Ratchanok received US$26,250 money prize for her victory. She will next play the Indonesia Masters which starts on Tuesday and India Open the following week.
