Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) − a world leader in high-performance network security - today, at its Thailand Media Day event, announced its 2012 strategy to drive business and help Thai enterprises secure their IT infrastructure in an increasingly connect

To reach more Thai organisations with its innovative IT security solutions portfolio, Fortinet will continue to broaden its pool of distributors and resellers to increase territory coverage. About 50 of them  have already been recruited in the last six months.

Said Peerapong Jongvibool, Country Manager of Fortinet Thailand: "We are half way through in beefing up our channel ecosystem. We have found many dependable resellers and have nearly completed training them so that they can effectively support customers across our entire product range. This is a key priority for us as a strong channel base is the foundation of solid business growth."

Additionally, while Fortinet has built up a strong business from its flagship FortiGate® integrated multi-threat network security appliances, it has started to diversify from this core solution to related products, offering enterprises security that extends from the client, to databases, to Web applications, to the overall network. This year, Fortinet Thailand will focus on growing its business in these complementary security products, ultimately providing enterprises with a complete security solution that helps them protect and control their IT infrastructure, end-to-end.

Said Jongvibool: "We are already seeing demand for our email security solutions. In the next few months, we also expect more organisations to deploy our Web application firewalls, as CIOs come under pressure to tackle sophisticated application-based threats and the spreading use of social media like Facebook and Twitter."

Lastly, Fortinet Thailand’s strategy for 2012 is to intensify its focus on large enterprises. This is a result of Fortinet’s leadership in performance. Many organisations like stock exchanges, banks and telcos, requiring massive amounts of data to be inspected in very short times, have already turned to the vendor's low-latency and high-performance solutions. Fortinet's FortiGate-5140B integrated multi-threat appliance, for instance, was recently tested on the BreakingPoint platform and recognized as the world's fastest firewall. The FortiGate-5140B performed at speeds that were three times faster than any competitor’s published results.
