Parallel reinforces position as top provider of hosting, cloud delivery software

Parallels has announced an extensive collection of new software, technology partnerships and updated market research, further strengthening its position as the top provider of complete hosting and cloud delivery software for service providers to address the actively growing small and medium business (SMB) cloud market in Asia Pacific.
Vice president for service provider marketing and alliances, John Zann, said that Parallels continues to invest in and work with service providers to meet the accelerating demand for SMB cloud services in the Asia-Pacific as the fastest-growing cloud adoption segment.  
According to Parallels SMB Cloud Insights, the company’s market research on the global SMB cloud marketplace, it is estimated that the Asia-Pacific cloud market is worth US$8.8 billion (Bt264 billion), and will grow at a 27-per-cent compound annual growth rate of $18 billion by 2014.
He added that the company has established or expanded over 300 partnerships that have resulted in profit-generating services in the past year across the globe and over 100 independent software vendors worldwide that are providing software as a service.
In Thailand, Parallels is partnering service providers such as Thai Biz Host and WebVisions. It also announced its partnership with Krypt, the dedicated server and hosting division of VPLS, which provides a wide range of highly specialised IT solutions, including data, voice, network and managed solutions. 
“Our unrivalled expertise and access to a broad ecosystem is helping the region’s service provider a complete and integrated hosting and cloud services portfolio to meet the needs of the SMB market,” said Zann.
Parallels Plesk Panel 11 provides revenue-generating capabilities such as an integrated software-as-a-service storefront with access to more than a hundred Web-based applications to create unique service plans that meet a variety of customer needs.  
“Parallels Plesk Panel 11 will bring improved security for all users with hardened security, improved password encryption, and optional password protection for critical tasks,” said Zann.
Meanwhile, Parallels Automation 5.4 is a suite of communications and collaboration features, including a full-featured virtual PBX-enablement solution for delivering hosted BroadSoft BroadWorks PBX and hosted Microsoft Lync services, designed specifically to meet the growing demands of SMBs for bundled cloud applications.
