VOLVO TRUCKS Thailand has introduced a real-time online application as part of its plan to help customers enhance their bottom line and competitiveness for transportation and logistics businesses.

Tawin Kongchandee, Volvo Group vice president for the after market, said Dynafleet would support fleet owners to reduce petrol bills and maintenance costs as well as monitor driver behaviour.
Dynafleet was developed as a tool to reduce operating costs, displaying all the data on the dashboard via satellite communications linked with fleet management in operation room.
Fleet owners can download the data of curtain trucks to their smart phone or tablet, giving them updated data at any place any time.
Dynafleet is available in positioning and report modules. Under the positioning module, the system updates a truck’s position in real time via the Google Map application.
The report module also records the historical driving routes of the trucks and the current status of the trucks, allowing fleet owners to keep up to date with the driving behaviour of drivers.
The module also alerts fleet operators if fuel has been stolen during a trip.
The report module focuses on driver behaviour which directly causes excess fuel consumption – the major cost of transportation – enabling fleet owners to analyse the behaviour of drivers to make them better.
“The customers are able to download both real-time and historical data of a certain driver in a certain truck, allowing them to know the driving manner of the driver, including the usage of the brake, cruise control, engine brake etc. All this data will help the truck owners know how they can save cost of maintenance on engines, tyres and brakes,” Tawin said.
He said Volvo Trucks offered driver-improvement training programme.
