Mitsubishi vehicle sales increase 13.8% in first half of year

Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co Ltd has reported total sales of 32,537 vehicles from January to June this year, an increase of 13.8 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Morikazu Chokki, president and CEO, said: "It's considered another firm step toward Mitsubishi' s bicentennial, we are pleased to see strong sales in the first six months rising 13.8% per cent year-on-year on the strength of quality products, ongoing branding campaign, and CSR activities widely recognized by Thai consumers.”
The Triton pickup delivered the highest sales growth among the company’s product portfolios, up 41.5 per cent (YOY) to 15,207, this Mitsubishi top-selling model represents nearly 47 per cent of the company's 1H 2017 sales.
The Attrage eco car finished the first half of 2017 with 5,674 units sold, 35.1 per cent sales increase (YOY), stands at the company's no. 2 top growth model, followed by the Mirage with sales increasing 21.3 per cent to 4,434 units.
Sales of the Pajero Sport PPV surpassed 7,200 units, this second best-selling model accounted for 22 per cent of total sales in the first half of 2017.
Chokki added: "Mitsubishi Motors Thailand expects the strong momentum to continue in the second half of this year driven by product roll out, branding and sales campaign to address year end’s cyclical sales peak.”
