First unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 in Las Vegas, LG’s new Signature OLED W7 TV has finally made its way to our shores.

Launched today at the LG Roadshow 2017 in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, the ultra thin TV features the unique Picture-on-Wall design.

The design allows users to mount the 65in TV with a minimum gap against the wall thanks to its 3.8mm thin frame. It comes with a Wallpaper function that displays preloaded paintings and photos on the TV when not in use, making it almost indistinguishable from a piece of art.

The TV is also equipped with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technologies, bringing cinema-quality visual and audio experience into the living room.

Dolby Vision enhances the HDR-viewing experience with higher-level of brightness, higher contrast and wider range of colours, while Dolby Atmos brings the rich, detailed surround sound experience for viewers.

LG Electronics Malaysia general sales manager Patrick Seow said that the combination of the thin framed Picture-on-Wall design and cinema technologies makes the OLED W7 a suitable companion for entertainment in the living room.

However, the main differentiating factor of the 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) TV is the OLED panel itself.

Unlike conventional TV panels, OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) is known for its wide colour gamut, meaning a wider colour range, higher contrast ratio and deeper blacks.

According to LG, the deeper blacks came from the ability of the self-lighting pixels of the OLED to switch on and off easily, resulting in a pitch black background that enhances the images on screen.

The Signature OLED W7 is available through pre-order starting today at the LG Roadshow in Pavilion KL concourse area with a recommended retail price of RM44,999.

The first 10 pre-order units will be made available at a discounted price of RM39,999.

Another product launched at the roadshow was the new LG InstaView GC-X247CSAV refrigerator.

The fridge features a special 33in see-through tinted glass panel on the top right compartment, which allows the user to easily peek at the food and drinks inside the fridge without letting the cold air out by opening the door.

It’s energy saving too as the lights inside the refrigerator will not turn on unless the user knocks twice on the glass to illuminate the contents within.

LG claims that the InstaView feature reduces temperature fluctuation up to 42%, resulting in longer lasting freshness of the content in the fridge. The refrigerator retails at RM10,999.
