As part of the new technology to achieve this vision, the company disclosed plans to introduce a nextgeneration engine called SKYACTIVX in 2019. SKYACTIVX will be the world’s first commercial petrol engine to use compression ignition.
“The company will continue to seek ways to inspire people through the value found in cars,” Mazda said.
“We aim to reduce corporate average “welltowheel” carbon dioxide emissions to 50 per cent of 2010 levels by 2030, and achieve a 90 per cent reduction by 2050.
