Thrill seekers from Thailand eager to have their nerve tested may want to consider heading down to Singapore this month for Asia’s biggest Halloween festival.
From later this month to early in November, Singapore promises visitors a wealth of frightful fun at the “Sentosa Spooktacular 2013” with familiar ghosts from some of GTH’s best known horror flicks creating the spooky thrills.
On the other side of Sentosa island, meanwhile, the Sisters of Evil will be taking centrestage at Universal Studios Singapore’s “Halloween Horror Nights 3”.
If all these events are not enough to get your heart pumping, take part in the 5-kilometre zombie marathon “Race the Dead” on October 26 and 27 where hordes of zombies will be waiting for you at every corner and every turn.
“Singapore is a destination with a variety of experiences and activities for every visitor wanting to be entertained and thrilled,” notes Ashlynn Loo, Singapore Tourism Board director for Thailand and Myanmar. “Residents and visitors look forward to October every year because they know that there’ll major Halloween events and parties to enjoy.
Partygoers should take care not to miss the Zombieland bash at Wavehouse Sentosa on Siloso beach, which runs from 9 till late on October 26. EDM producer Reid Stefan and DJ Ono of Bangkok Invaders among others will be manning the decks.
Bugis Street will be spooky too with its talented ghosts ready to leap out and surprise shoppers at every corner.
Family visitors will find the Asian Civilisations Museum full of ghostly fun with its one-night-only special Halloween event “ACM After Dark: Mystic Asia”; where the Asian supernatural comes alive at the museum after dark.
Visitors will be thrilled by activities and performances inspired by the objects from the galleries and Asia folklore while kids will meet the region’s most famous ghosts in person and enjoy ghost movies that are appropriate for them.
There will also be many other activities for kids, including a DIY souvenir-making session where kids can bring home their own creation as a memento. The event on October 26 runs from 7 to 11pm and admission is free.
