Fire in the sky

Pattaya International Fireworks Festival returns to Thailand’s best beach holiday destination on November 29 and 30. Down from 10 foreign participants in previous years, this year’s festival will feature 45-minute shows by teams from Canada, China, Singapore and the United States. The main “Brighten Your Life” fireworks show will take place on November 29 along Beach Road, which will be closed between 3:30pm and 11pm. The second day will feature musical performances, a parade of Pattaya schoolchildren and market-style booths.

 

High flying to Kunming

Air Asia is now offering direct flights between Kunming and Bangkok. The flight takes off from Bangkok’s Don Mueang airport at 9am local time and arrives in Kunming at 12.30am. The return flight departs 1.20pm in Kunming and arrives in Bangkok at 2.50pm local time. The airline plans to launch more international direct flights from tourism destinations of Kunming, Lijiang and Xishuangbanna to India and Southeast Asian countries.
