Discovering Thailand’s hidden gems
The Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel recently celebrated its sixth annual Global Day of Discovery at the R Bar by revisiting Thailand’s historic martial art muay thai.
Created to encourage business travellers to experience their “5 to 9” with as much vigour as they approach their “9 to 5”, the Global Day of Discovery spotlights hidden gems around the globe that give neighbourhoods their soul and range from underground art scenes to exotic local cuisines
The event drew hundreds of guests and celebrities, who milled around the five food-and-drink and activity stations and thoroughly enjoyed “The Epic Journey of Muay Thai”, a live performance that chronicled the rich history of this cultural heritage.
Further enhancing the city’s most exciting moments were many other exhilarating activities such as muay thai tattooing, traditional Thai massage, and aromatic Thai herbal press therapy, all allowing guests to further discover Thai culture, and adding a bustling vibe to Bangkok.
