The SRT on Friday suspended three passenger trains: two from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and one from Bangkok to Phrae. It offered refunds or rescheduled trips for ticket holders.

SRT governor Nirut Maneephan visited the site of the accident on Friday. The derailed containers were removed and the tracks repaired by midnight on Friday, he said.

All train travel between Bangkok and the North resumed as usual from Saturday morning, he said.
