Korea, Thailand mark 65th diplomatic ties with soft power exchange

The Korean Cultural Center and Korea Thailand Communication Center (KTCC) present 'K-Soft Power Festival 2023 in Thailand' on November 25 at 14:00 at Future Park Rangsit, Bangkok.

Commemorating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the event showcases diverse cultural content from Korea and Thailand, promoting mutual soft power exchange.

The festival kicks off with a K-pop cover dance by 'The Stars,' a team with Down syndrome, followed by Korean traditional performances 'Gilnori' and 'Ginori.' The Korean Percussion Group 'In Phung-ryu' adds a traditional touch, ushering in the festivities with musical instruments and flags.

Ham, Jeonghan, Charge d'affaires of the Korean Embassy, delivers an opening speech. The program includes a joint performance of Thai traditional dance and Muay Thai by Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, K-pop cover dance, Thai idol group 'XI(Exzai),' 'Yedam Y,' and Korean traditional dances like 'Chun-aeng-mu' and 'Tae-pyeong-mu.' The lineup also features 'Sogo-chum,' 'Jindo-buk-chum,' 'Jang-gu-chum,' and 'Bu-chae-chum.' A break dance performance expressing Hangeul by the '20th Century B-Boy' team and a Taekwondo demonstration by 'Black Leopard' team add excitement.

The event hosts the 'Show Your Soft Power' competition with 15 Thai finalists showcasing talents in vocal, dance, lip sync, and traditional performance. The director of the Korean Cultural Center, Mr. Cho, Jaeil, will award the winner.

On November 26th, the festival extends to The Child Protection and Development Center (CPDC), Pattaya, featuring performances and charitable activities. Partners like Jeong Art, Black Leopard, Kowin Thailand, GTO, LG, Coway, and Prothai join in item donations and volunteer work for the children.

'K-Soft Power Festival 2023 in Thailand' offers free admission, inviting visitors to explore booths providing travel information to Korea, Korean food experiences, and both on- and off-line events.
