Cooler and windy in the NE, North and Central regions

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2023

The northeastern region will experience a drop in temperature today (November 24) along with strong winds, while the northern, central, and eastern regions will have cooler mornings with temperatures ranging from 17 to 21 degrees Celsius.

A high-pressure system or a cold air mass from China is expected to descend over North Vietnam and the South China Sea, and should move to cover the upper northeastern region of Thailand by this evening. Residents should take care of their health due to changing weather conditions and be cautious of potential hazards from dry weather.

For the Eastern Gulf of Thailand and the southern region, the low-pressure belt covering the South China Sea is expected to move across the Gulf of Thailand. This scenario will maintain heavy rain for some areas of the lower southern region (eastern coast), and whip up waves to 2-3 metres in the Gulf of Thailand, more in storms, The Andaman Sea will have waves of approximately 1 metre and higher in areas with thunderstorms.

Citizens in the lower southern region should beware of dangers from heavy and accumulated rainfall, which could cause sudden flooding and flash floods, especially in areas near flowing waterways and low-lying areas from today until November 27. Small vessels should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
