Advanced Info Service Plc has restored the mobile phone network in the northern Central region, covering Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lop Buri and Saraburi.

In a statement released today, AIS said that the services are 100 per cent restored after the return of power supply.
Wichien Mektrakan, AIS chief executive officer, said that engineers are contributing best efforts in maintaining services in the lower part of the region - Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani and Nonthaburi. Despite power cut, the network is powered by generators. However, the coverage capacity is only 10 per cent of the base stations' capacity.
AIS also announced that base stations in other inundated areas like Rangsit, Chaeng Wattana and Taweewattana remain safe and operational under close watch by the team of engineers. Little damage is reported from base stations in Bangkok, as most of them are on high-rise buildings.
To serve greater demand for data search, rescue reports and social media, AIS has installed 763 more 3G spots in Greater Bangkok. Couple with 1,286 spots installed earlier, the 3G service coverage expands from 29 districts to 64 districts.
