According to chief executive officer Nart Liuchareon, the AEC offers an opportunity to enter new markets. CDG expects to be the No 1 information and communications technology business in Asean by 2015.
To drive its business, the firm has announced five new missions: proficiency and establishing a proven track record; creativity and intellectuality; innovation and distinctiveness; being a knowledge-based and learning organisation; and being “customer-centric”, delivering 100-per-cent satisfaction.
“The firm will innovate in products and services such as cloud services and public-safety solutions to leverage quality of life, society, economy and environment,” Nart said.
As part of the Smart Thailand plan, ICT Minister Anudith Nakornthap plans to create a pilot Smart City project in Nakhon Nayok province in February. The project will utilise the services of various government agencies such as the ICT, Interior and Public Health ministries.
CDG Group has five subsidiaries: Control Data (Thailand), a systems integrator providing turnkey solutions to large businesses, state enterprises and government agencies; Computer Peripheral & Supplies, which provides hardware, peripherals and high-speed printers for large enterprises, government, state enterprises and businesses; CDG Systems, providing turnkey projects and specific systems to state enterprises; ESRI, providing a one-stop geographic information system service, GIS and image-processing software, and GIS and map data services; and Globetech, a provider of location content including digital mapping under the Nostra brand, with about 800,000 points of interest nationwide.
