Siam Commercial Bank has introduced a concept called "SCB UP2ME" designed to appeal to younger customers.

Yol Phokasub, senior executive vice president, said the target customers were first-jobbers and others below 30 years old, as such people are more in need of payment services than investment assistance.
People in this category do not usually carry out many banking transactions, as they are just starting their careers. But they are interested in establishing a financial lifestyle in terms of how they make payments and how they save.
SCB UP2ME offers easy-pay solutions by using QR (quick response) codes to reduce the need for cash. Customers and merchants can download the SCB UP2ME application to their smart mobile phones.
The bank will promote the QR codes at targeted merchants in JJ Sunday Market and the Platinum Fashion Mall Wholesale.
The bank also offers an UP2ME card, which combines credit, debit and cash cards into one piece of plastic. Customers can choose revolving payments, full payments or instalments.
The bank is also promoting UP2ME My Goal My Savings accounts for time deposits. This account is suitable for customers who have clear goals such as purchase of a vehicle or a home.
It will revamp four branches at BTS Skytrain stations to become SCB UP2ME outlets next month.
