Seven French companies to attend Bangkok medical fair

Seven French companies will |join a medical fair in Bangkok this September, hoping to break into Southeast Asia's growing healthcare market.

According to Ubifrance, the |trade commission of the French Embassy in Thailand, the companies, which specialise in healthcare technology and services, will be in Bangkok to introduce |their latest innovations and to |find the right distributors for their products in the region.
The companies are Dassault Systemes, Hygeco International Products, KNS Lease, PSA, SBM, Spengler, and Thuasne.
The four companies’ export directors will be available at |stand ‘S21’ during the fair to discuss business opportunities with |their Thai counterparts, said Ubifrance. 
The fair, scheduled for September 12-14 at the Queen |Sirikit National Convention Centre, will focus on equipment and supplies for the hospital, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, medical and rehabilitation sectors. 
The fair serves as an annual point-of-contact for both |regional and international industry experts.
 
 
Ground-breaking for 
new Mazda plant 
Mazda Powertrain Manufacturing (Thailand) Co Ltd, an affiliate of Mazda Motor Corporation, recently held a |ground breaking ceremony to construct a transmission plant on a |130-rai plot of land at the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in Chonburi province, developed by Hemaraj Land And Development Plc. 
Due for completion in 2014, |the new facility will produce Mazda’s Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmissions, and intends to become the Asean hub of Mazda Powertrain technology. The company is targeting 1.7 million units in annual global sales by March 2016.
 
 
Putanarat launches Khao Yai housing project
Putanarat Co Ltd has launched its latest house and condominium project on Thararat Road near Khao Yai called, “The Pluris Khao Yai”, worth Bt2 billion. 
The project opens for presale on July 20-24.
Sichalin Runglerthakul, the |company’s managing director said there was a rising residential demand in Khao Yai, as indicated |by over 40 new house and condominium projects launched during the past few years.
 The company plans to develop The Pluris Khao Yai with a more than 60 per cent green area, |supporting unusual plants and trees. It will comprise of houses |and condominiums in a modern, tropical style. 
The project value is estimated |to be in the region of Bt2 billion. 
 
 
TrueVisions in partnership deal with Walt Disney 
TrueVisions, the country's |largest pay-TV operator, has entered |into partnership with The Walt Disney Company, Southeast Asia, |to launch a new exclusive channel, Disney XD (DXD), in high-definition for its premium package subscribers.
 The deal will also see the expansion of its two existing channels, namely Disney Channel and Disney Junior, with its mid-tier to free-view package. 
Amit Malholtra, general manager for media distribution and sales |at The Walt Disney Company, SEA, said the launch was an important milestone in building a whole new generation of Disney fans in Thailand.
