First airline to connect the two cities with non-stop route

SpiceJet, an Indian low-cost airline, has launched direct flights between Pune, a major city in the western state of Maharashtra, and Bangkok.
Commercial flights on the Pune-Bangkok route started on Sunday. SpiceJet Flight SG93 departs Pune Airport at 1.40pm every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and the return flight, SG94, arrives at Pune at 12.45pm after leaving Bangkok at 10.05am.
The airline is offering an introductory fare of 15,999 rupees (about Bt8,100) return inclusive of all taxes on the Pune-Bangkok route.
SpiceJet is the only airline to connect the two cities with direct flights. It is also offering convenient connections to Bangkok from other cities on its network through Pune. Connectivity from Bangalore was also launched on Sunday.
The direct connectivity with Bangkok will offer cost-effective and convenient travelling to one of the most sought-after destinations in Southeast Asia by tourists from Pune, which is the cultural capital of Maharashtra.
The airline is deploying its New Generation Boeing 737-800 189-seat aircraft on this route.
Bangkok is the 10th international destination of SpiceJet. The airline has been rapidly expanding its global footprint recently with the addition of several foreign cities in the Middle Eastern and Asian regions to its network.
The airline also started direct services to Sharjah, the third-largest of the United Arab Emirates, from Pune on September 21.
