The company will begin collaborating with RMA Group next quarter to capture market opportunities in Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.
JWD chief executive officer Charvanin Bunditkitsada said his company was targeting those markets because of their proximity to Thailand as well as their economic growth driven by foreign investment.
In the first two years of this expansion strategy, JWD aims to establish itself as a hub for warehouse management in Vientiane, Yangon and Phnom Penh for distribution to other towns linking southern China, Malaysia and Singapore, ultimately becoming an Asean logistics leader within five years.
By the fourth quarter of this year, the company will begin logistics services in Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. JWD recently signed a partnership agreement with RMA Group, which owns well-known restaurant franchises such as The Pizza Company, Swensen’s and Dairy Queen.
In Thailand, JWD has expanded its customer base in its three key industries from large-scale factories to retail supply chains and distributors by operating warehouses in major business locations.
JWD’s revenue last year amounted to Bt2.6 billion, with more than half coming from its three core industries, Charvanin said. It targets revenue of Bt2.9 billion this, representing 12-per-cent growth.
