These include a cardless ATM service that will allow customers to make cash withdrawals from any SCB machine without the need to use an ATM. The “Easy Bonus” feature will offer a range of lifestyle privileges and discounts to app users, and “Easy App Protection” will provide up to Bt100,000 coverage in the event of any damage from app usage.
SCB expects the number of SCB Easy users to soar past eight million before the end of next year, “ushering Thailand towards a cashless society in line with the Thailand 4.0 national e-payment plan”, according to the bank's president and CEO, Arthid Nanthawithaya, at a press conference on Monday.
“The launch of freshly redesigned SCB Easy, together with our new digital platform turns a new page in SCB history, as we move forward to become the ultimate lifestyle-banking provider,” Arthid said.
SCB had set a new standard of financial services for providers in the field and strengthened Thailand's banking and financial sector as it faced non-bank competitors in the digital age, he said.
Arhid added that SCB Easy was a “fast, secure, stable and easily scalable banking app”.
