Flying the flag of their KK Money Station model, the trucks are part of the bank’s efforts to sign up more retail customers.
Pattarapong Raktabutr, head of the alternative distribution channel group of Kiatnakin Bank Plc (which is itself a member of Kiatnakin Phatra Financial Group), said that an emphasis on proactive marketing had increased retail loans over the past year.
The development was in line with the bank’s aim to become a quality credit house.
The mobile lending trucks build on other alternative approaches the company has recently taken to expand market presence and increase customer convenience. The alternative distribution channel, dubbed
“KK Money Station”, offers products such as personal loans, car loans, home loans, and the “KK SME Car X3”. Earlier, mini booths were set up in a rotating manner at office buildings throughout Bangkok.
The new loan service truck programme aims to reach customers at industrial estates, housing projects, prominent organisations and various communities, allowing greater convenience for customers during the borrowing process.
The mobile lending truck is modelled on Suzuki Carry truck made by the automaker, which partners with Kiatnakin Band for captive finance loans.
“The truck’s interior house various equipment that allows Kiatnakin Bank’s employees to work speedily, with bank personnel at the ready to provide counsel for customers,” said Pattarapong.
“Clients looking to borrow can immediately submit their loan applications at the mobile lending truck. Initially, the bank has been taking the truck to service hotspots and prime areas such as Chatuchak Park, Industrial Estates and petrol stations. This model will play a role in expanding the customer base for the bank by filling access gaps resulting from branches being unable to reach customers and also by answering to the current consumer lifestyle,” he said.
