The Oil Fuel Fund says it is committed to keeping the oil price stable unless global market conditions impact liquidity

The Oil Fuel Fund will continue to subsidise the retail price of diesel to maintain it at no higher than 33 baht per litre, an official of the Oil Fuel Fund Office (OFFO) said on Thursday.

Pornchai Jirakulphaisarn, director of OFFO’s policy division, said the fund will continue subsidising the price of diesel in fiscal 2025 to maintain the stability of oil prices.

Pornchai said the fund will do its best to cap the diesel price at 33 baht per litre unless the global oil situation affects the fund’s liquidity.

Pornchai added that a new director-general for the Thai Industrial Standards Institution (TISI) will be selected within December.

He added that the institution will draft a master plan of measures to deal with a potential in 2025-2029. The plan should go to the Cabinet for approval soon.

He said the TISI will also cover the principal of its 139 million baht loan by next month and expects to pay the entire amount by 2028.
