The impact that science and technology has on people's daily lives will be visible to all visitors who go to an event linked to the BoI Fair.

The event this year showcases not only corporate achievements in Thai innovation – visitors can also shop for quality and creative goods and learn the processes behind their invention.

At the TechnoMart InnoMart 2011 being held in parallel with the BoI Fair, technology-based products are being showcased for visitors to see how they can make life better and easier.
They can view hi-quality products produced by local communities from different regions in the country from technology passed on by the Science and Technology Ministry. Members of the ministry’s science and technology village networks were taught how to produce better processed agricultural products and grow organic plants.
Apart from local goods, visitors will see development of functional foods, cosmetics, clothes, medicine, safety equipment and machines. Robots display many uses, especially in agriculture; for example creating a therapeutic joint and muscle rub from longan extract, baby powder without talcum, natural sweeteners, automatic welding carriages, automatic guide vehicles, plus sugar coating machines and incinerators.
Visitors can also see products evolved from space research by NASA and Japan’s Aerospace Exploration, including sports helmets, wheel ball bearings, inline skate boots, sunglasses, wheel lubricants, frame-retardant materials, athletic shoes and non-bacteria T-shirts.
Samples of astronaut or space food and moon rocks are also on show at a booth provided by the Science and Technology Ministry
For young people interested in science and technology, the ministry has provided booths to visit and learn about satellites, the solar system, green technology and scientific applications for daily life.
They should not miss visit a 3D virtual factory that simulates how a factory works to study development of computer programmes.
Researchers at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok developed the programme, which can help architects or engineers design a factory.
The TechnoMart InnoMart is being held at Impact Convention Centre Hall 9 from January 5 to 13.
