The Cabinet resolved on Wednesday that Thailand would host the event as requested. As the host, Thailand needs to come up with safety measures, supporting vehicles and facilitation on visa issuance as well as entry to key venues.
Deputy government spokesman Pakdeeharn Himathongkham said that the Cabinet sees this as the opportunity to promote the country's image in terms of politics, economics and particularly freedom of the press.
