“We should be able to launch it at other schools in the 2015 academic year,” ministry permanent secretary Panita Kambhu na Ayutthaya said yesterday, adding that a panel was developing the new curriculum.
According to Panita, six main areas of learning would be categorised under the new curriculum, including Lang-uages and Cultures; Science, Math and Information Technology; Communi-cations, Life, and Career World; Com-munication Skills; Society and Hum-anity; and Asean Community, the Region, and the World.
Panita was speaking before a House ad-hoc committee.
However, Education Deans Council member Prapansiri Susoarat warned that new curriculum could lead to many problems. “Presently, teacher-training institutes have trained teachers based on the current curriculum,” she pointed out. She added that the new curriculum could lead to fewer requests for teaching licences.
