Trat teen stops suicide attempt

Trat teen stops suicide attempt

A 17-year-old boy's attention to those who may be in need paid off, as that helped him timely saved the life of a 20-year-old woman from a suicide jump off a Trat bridge on Tuesday evening.

Fisherman Krissana Boonoom was on a long-tail boat on Trat River to fish near a bridge when he saw the young woman weeping on the bridge's rail.
Sensing something was wrong after his fishing friends on the bridge said she had been weeping there for over an hour, the boy called the police and kept watching her.
When rescue workers Khomsan Yangneuk and Suthin Reunreuthai arrived to ask her to come down, the woman jumped into the river.
Krissana approached in his boat and pulled the woman from the water. She received first aid and was sent to Trat Hospital.
Krissana said he normally liked to be helpful to others. The woman reportedly was in distress due to a problem at home.
Sawangboontrat charity manager Jeerawat Saengchan praised Krissana and gave cash to his family as a reward while also offering him a job as a rescue worker.
