Sharp spike in new Covid-19 cases as 9,635 infected
A sharp increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in prisons sent Thailands infections soaring to a new high of 9,635 on Monday.
Officials said 6,853 patients in prisons had tested positive, in addition to 2,773 outside and nine in quarantine.
Death toll increased by 25, while 1,397 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.
Since April 1 when the third wave began, cumulative cases totalled 82,219.
