Kru Lily tends to her wet flock

Thailanguage tutor Kru Lily Rojanasupya is spending less time teaching these days thanks to the flood.

But when her school’s district was evacuated, she took her students home with her.
Actually Lily always has students and friends living with her at Baan buddha, her house in Pak Chong up in Nakhon Ratchasima. They meditate and listen to monks’ sermons.
Every family gets a free room and free roam of the facilities. When the 50 rooms fill up, people camp in tents on the grounds. If you need a place, just call Lily’s sister, Wara, at (087) 909 8277.
Kru Lily, however, will likely be away, either distributing essentials to flood victims or raising money for them. And last Tuesday she was collecting cash in front of CentralWorld for the Army troops working hard on the flood frontline.
Her classes aren’t likely to reconvene before November 10, so in the meantime if you see Lily shaking her collection bucket, toss her a few baht and a smile.

Tob’s got time

Celebrity tomboy Patinya “Tob” Kuantrakoon is keeping a cautious eye on the flood level at the Panya housing estate, which he owns and where he lives. It’s not far from Safari World, where the zoo animals are treading water.
You have to do more than just watch the tide, though, so Tob is also preparing 250 boxed lunches a day for soldiers assigned to the district.

It’s all drama

The suffering public is going to get really upset if we run out of soap operas because of the flooding. But the fact is that the 25 provinces still affected are home to many production locations.
Channel 3 quickly figured out what to do: reduce the primetime soap slot. It not only stretches out the supply of episodes already completed, it provides an extra 30 minutes every evening for “3 Miti” (“Three-dimensional News”) to cover the crisis.
And amazingly, so far at least, no one has complained!
