World champion DJ Armin Van Buuren returns for the Future Music Festival Asian in March

Highly anticipated and in the habit of breaking records, the Future Music Festival Asian will be bigger and better than ever in its 2014 edition in March. Southeast Asia’s largest song festival is expanding to three days with what promises to be its biggest line-up to date.
In fact, Future Entertainment Australia and Livescape Asia expect it might be the largest music gathering Southeast Asia will ever see.
The world’s reigning No 1 DJ, Armin Van Buuren, will be returning to Malaysia to host his live radio show, “A State of Trance” – this year dubbed “ASOT 650” and packed with fellow spinners he’s chosen himself. Kuala Lumpur and Miami, Florida, are the only cities where “ASOT” has been presented for two years running.
Van Buuren’s “A State of Trance” is one of the most popular radio mix shows on the planet, with an estimated 25 million people in 26 countries tuning in, and this is a live version. Last year’s “ASOT 600” drew more than 30,000 fans.
“This is something we’re really excited about, because Armin himself has chosen to have ‘ASOT’ return to Kuala Lumpur, and we hope our fans will be as excited as we are,” says Livescape Asia director Iqbal Ameer.
“Having already announced our line-up in Australia, what I can reveal for now without giving away too much about the rest of the Future Music Festival Asia 2014 is that it is going to be our biggest line-up to date,” adds Brett Robinson, chief of Future Music Group Australia.
“With ‘ASOT 650’ confirming it will be returning to Kuala Lumpur to make up Day 2 of the weekend, this year’s festival is going to be one fans won’t want to miss.”
Confirmed acts so far include American rap duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, British garage act Naughty Boy, drum-and-bass specialist Sub Focus and electronic-music quartet Rudimental, plus the plugged-in sounds of DJs Deadmau5, Deniz Koyu, Markus Schulz, Brodinsky and Eric Prydz, all making their first appearances in Asia. More names are to be announced soon.
The festival is expected to attract 75,000 fans, including 20,000 tourists, to Mines Wonderland, the “safari jungle” just outside the Malaysian capital.
