SINCE REOPENING last month, the newly renovated Siam Discovery has underlined its commitment to the environment and sustainable development with an Eco Select campaign that focuses on innovative lifestyle products made from eco-friendly materials and the unique handcrafts created by local artisans.
The campaign showcases the products of several new-wave brands, among them Chapeau Volant, which offers grass hats, Madmatter, which has transformed second-hand clothing from Japan into funky caps and Tua Pen Not, which is selling notebooks and shopping bags made from old fertiliser bags.
Lukyang, the winner of Japan’s G-Mark Award, has the Let’s Grow Plant calendar, packed with seeds of local herbs and plants suited for planting at the end of each month.
Scrap Shop turns the drainage bags used in kidney dialysis into trendy tote bags, Hide creates waterproof and washable bags from paper scraps, and Palm Graphic Design Paper has stylish boxes made from old paper crates.
Other highlights include Dibdee’s lovely diaries made from recycled paper, Forrest’s smart wristwatches with a dial revealing the textures of stone and moss, and notebooks fashioned out of old cement bags by Dhamada Garden.
