Director Banjong Pisunthanakun was in Taipei to meet the press before his film “One Day” goes on general release.

Thai horror movies are long been popular in Taiwan and director Banjong Pisunthanakun is a big name there, drawing in big bucks at the Taiwanese box office for “Faed”(“Alone”) and “Pee Mak Phrakhanong.”
Now it’s time for the director to try a new challenge as he takes his romantic drama “Fanday… Fan Kan Khae Wan Diaw (“One Day”) to Taiwanese cinephiles, where it will be released under the title “The One-Day Lover” on April 7
Banjong recently flew to Taipei to hold a brief press interview and promote his film and this time he communicated with the press in Mandarin, which he learned in a short but intensive course in Beijing a few years ago.
“One Day” has already been released in Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and Hong Kong and has just participated the Osaka Asian Film Festival. The film earned Bt110 million at the box office last year and was the second top grossing Thai film in 2016 after the comedy “Luang Pee Jazz 4G” at Bt154 million.
The movie stars Chantavit Dhanasevi and Nittha Jirayungyurn, who picked up the best actor and best actress prizes from Subhanahongsa awards.
For the record, “Alone” earned NT$38 million (around Bt45.6 million) at the Taiwanese box office while “Pee Mak” followed with NT$1.26 (Bt1.5 million). His romantic comedy “Gaun Muen Ho”( “Hello Stranger”) wasn’t released in Taiwan.
