BMA puts fire engine on standby at 35 locations
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will put fire engines on standby at 35 risky locations around the capita on Chinese New Year Day on January 28, Deputy BMA city clerk Pichai Krienwatanasiri said Friday.
Pichai said the fire engines and fire fighters would be on standby on around the clock basis in case fire breaks out on Chinese New Year festival when Chinese descendants light fire crackers and Chinese rite papers to pay respect to their ancestors.
According to Pichai, the 35 locations are:
1) Under Silom elevated expressway
2) Tiger God Shrine
3) Asiatique shopping mall
4) In front of Central Phra Ram III shopping mall
5) Wasted water treatment site on Rama III road
6) In front of Twin Towers hotel
7) Odion roundabout
8) In front of Grand Hyatt Erawan, Ratchaprasong Intersection
9) RCA area
10) Stock Exchange of Thailand
11) In front of Bang Na district office
12) Klongtoey instersection
13) In front of The Scene Town-in-Town mall
14) Lam Phakchee intersection
15) In front of Max Value store on Nawamin road
16) Under electric train station at Taopoon intersection
17) IT Square, Lak Si Intersection
18) Saphan Mai market
19) Soi Lardprao-Wang Hin 48
